Austin eats

15 Oct

Yes yes yes, there is so very much to DO in Austin, but where do we EAT? Austin is becoming known for its food almost more than its live music these days. Here are some our most favorite spots to chow down.

Uchiko: The best restaurant IN THE WORLD. Really. Truly. We recommend the chef’s tasting and at least two orders of brussels sprouts.

Polvo’s: Our Mexican food go-to. Try the cartuja sauce and a Mexican martini.

Maudie’s: Another Tex-Mex go-to. Best cheese enchilada in town.

Kerbey Lane and/or Magnolia Cafe: Austin diner-esque staples.

The Salt Lick: A BBQ classic in cuisine and experience. Definitely worth the drive.

Madam Mam’s on the Drag: We love the food here and BONUS FACT: we went here on our first date. Aww. Pad Thai, Tom Kha, and Pla Sam Rod are our favorites.

Foodheads: The most delicious sandwiches.

Contigo: Great food, great cocktails, great place to enjoy Austin in the breezy fall season.

Torchy’s Tacos: You ain’t never had tacos like these before. We like the original trailer location on South 1st – BYOB!
