What to do in Austin

2 Oct

So you’re coming to Austin for our wedding and you want to know what else there is to do in this town? WELL! What ISN’T there to do? Music, food, outdoors, theatre, dance, movies…there aren’t enough hours in the day to live here, I tell ya. But here’s a short list of options for a weekend jaunt:

Experience a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse

Walk around Ladybird Lake

Food trailers! Favorites include The Mighty Cone, the original Torchy’s Tacos at the Trailer Park, and East Side King at The Liberty Bar

Stroll down South Congress

Barton Springs, of course (closed Thursdays)

Take in the Texas Capitol Building

Visit The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum

The Blanton Museum of Art (we went to the opening of this museum on our first date, aww)

Check out what’s onstage on at the Salvage Vanguard Theater

For more info on happenings in Austin, check out the Austin Chronicle or CultureMap Austin!
